Wedding shock for Bethany in Coronation Street as she’s delighted by proposal

Wedding bells are chiming in Coronation Street. Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) is about to get the shock of her life when her mum’s boyfriend Kit  Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) surprises by popping a big question.

Since the day she was born, Bethany Platt has had a revolving door of step-dads.

Her mum Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) became pregnant with Bethany as a teenager, and the father Neil Fearns died in a car crash a few years later.

Since then, Sarah’s had her pick of the Weatherfield legends, briefly dating her bestie Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) before he came out as gay by kissing her brother Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and began a turbulent on-again off again relationship with his brother Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) in revenge. While the couple got engaged and eventually married, it ultimately didn’t work out.

Other conquests include murderous gangster Callum Logan (Sean Ward), and a stable marriage to lawyer Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), until she strayed by cheating with drug dealing lowlife Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths).

Sarah’s clearly got a thing for bad boys, as one of her most notable romance on the Cobbles was with the scariest builder on the Cobbles,  Gary Windass (Mikey North). This attraction was actually shared by Bethany, whose obsession with Sarah’s boyfriend caused a rift between mother and daughter for a time.

Doing a complete 180 from dating criminals, Sarah began a romance with Cobbles copper DS Kit Green. Bethany didn’t have the best introduction to her future stepdad, who arrested her in late 2025 for taking her boss’s car without permission. After strong rumors and storylines involving an affair with Kit, fans were blindsided by the revelation that Kit had been dating Sarah all along.

Kit’s the whole package. Dedicated, career-driven… and he just so happens to be investigating Gary for the murder of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).

Which is interesting, because Sarah’s been growing closer to Gary again again ever since she was attacked by the unhinged Jodie Ramsey , Olivia Frances-Brown on the night of Theo’s murder.

So much so, that Gary’s wife  Maria (Samia Longchambon) is starting to get suspicious, especially when he goes leaping to his ex’s defence over the slightest thing.

While Maria’s suspicions rage and the murder investigation continues, somehow Kit thinks it’s the perfect time to pop the question to Sarah in upcoming scenes of Coronation Street. But just because he’s old school, he decides to ask permission… from Bethany.

Getting Bethany alone, Kit confides that he’s thinking of asking Sarah to marry him. How will she react?
