Manchester City have upped their bid for Elliot Anderson to £106million, plus add-ons, but Nottingham Forest have rejected the offer.
The add-ons in the bid for the midfielder would take the deal to over £120m, but Forest want more up front, reports The Athletic.
The Tricky Trees only intend on selling the 23-year-old for a British transfer record fee.
Liverpool set that record when they bought Alexander Isak from Newcastle United for £125m last summer.

Forest want more than that amount guaranteed from anyone wanting to buy their star midfielder this year.
It will be an enormous profit on the £35m Nottingham Forest paid Newcastle for Anderson when he arrived in 2024, but his profile has vastly increased over the last two years.
Manchester City are not the only interested party in the England star, with Manchester United also wanting to sign Anderson this summer.
However, it seems unlikely that the Red Devils will be willing to outbid City in what would be an eye-wateringly expensive bidding war.
While Manchester City have been favourites to win the race for Anderson for some time, a report emerged earlier this week that United chiefs fancied their chances of beating their local rivals to his signature.
As Forest dig their heels in over a monumental fee, that optimism sounds misplaced.
Manchester United have a number of other midfield targets, having already agreed a deal to sign Ederson from Atalanta.
The likes of West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes, Brighton’s Carlos Baleba andBournemouth’s Alex Scott are all on their radar.
