Marvel is preparing something big for Doctor Doom, as Victor is shown without his mask and sporting a surprisingly unscarred face as he meets Steve Rogers. Despite not being as big as Galactus, as physically intimidating as Annihilus, or as naturally powerful as the Beyonder, Doctor Doom is Marvel's number one villain. Victor von Doom achieves everything he sets his mind to, not simply by determination or genius like Tony Stark, but especially by sheer ego and vanity. Doom has earned omnipotence and later found it beneath him.
