Didi Hamann ‘can see Harry Kane at Manchester United next season’ amid rumours of a clause in his contract at Bayern Munich.

Kane has long been linked with a move to United and Hamann believes a stunning transfer could finally get over the line at the end of the season.

The England captain has conjured up a remarkable tally of 91 goals and 28 assists in 100 games for Bayern since he joined them from Tottenham.

But Hamann, who spent nine years at Bayern himself from 1989 to 1998, has claimed ‘many within the club’ believe 32-year-old striker Kane is keen on a Premier League return once the 2026 World Cup has concluded.

‘I think Harry Kane has a clause that allows him to leave for a certain amount next summer,’ Hamann told Adventure Gamers.

‘Many within the club think Kane wants to go back to England after the World Cup.

‘Whether that’s the case, I don’t know, but potentially it could be his last season in Munich if someone pays the fee [and] he can choose to leave next summer.

‘Whether someone pays £50m or £60m for him next summer, I don’t know.

‘Obviously, a lot will depend on what happens this season [and] in the World Cup.

‘But yes, I think a lot of people, I don’t know where they get it from, but many seem to believe that he may want to return to England next summer.

‘I can see Harry Kane at Manchester United next season, and I think he’d do well for them.’

Hamann is also not ruling out the possibility of Kane joining Chelsea or even Arsenal – but admits a move to one of those two clubs may be ‘tricky’ given his love for Spurs.

‘I always felt that [with] London boys, sometimes they don’t really like to go to the north,’ Hamann added.

‘Having played for Spurs, obviously Chelsea and Arsenal might be tricky, but then again, you never know, if they give him a chance to win the Premier League.

‘I always felt thought that a London club would be more favourable than a northern club.

‘But obviously United is probably still the biggest club in England, and if they were to ask for his services, I think it would be fantastic to see him as their number nine.’

Widely regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation, Kane is Tottenham’s all-time top goalscorer and also the Premier League’s second-highest all-time goalscorer.

Kane finally ended his long wait to land a trophy last season as Bayern clinched the 2024-25 Bundesliga title.
