Marvel Studios has officially set a return date for Peter Parker’s animated adventures. Season 2 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on January 13, 2027. The announcement was made during the “Up Next From Marvel Television and Marvel Animation” panel at New York Comic Con on October 8, 2026.

This upcoming season follows the series’ debut on January 29, 2025, continuing an alternate-timeline origin story where Norman Osborn, rather than Tony Stark, serves as Peter Parker’s primary mentor. The second season is set to introduce several major figures from the Spider-Man mythos.

Venom and New Character Debuts

One of the most significant updates for the new season is the arrival of Eddie Brock, voiced by Josh Keaton. The casting serves as a “meta” nod for longtime fans, as Keaton previously voiced the web-slinger in the critically acclaimed The Spectacular Spider-Man. This version of Brock is expected to transform into Venom during the second season. To emphasize this arc, Marvel revealed a new promotional poster at NYCC featuring a Venom-inspired insignia across Spider-Man’s chest.

In addition to the arrival of the symbiote, Gwen Stacy is confirmed to make her series debut in the upcoming episodes. The show will also see the return of Charlie Cox, reprising his role as Matt Murdock (Daredevil), further expanding the roster of street-level heroes in this specific corner of the Marvel multiverse.

Future of the Series and Timeline Context

The upcoming season is expected to pick up on various threads from the Season 1 finale, including the introduction of Richard Parker. Despite the wait for Season 2, the production team has been working on a long-term roadmap; the series was reportedly renewed through Season 3 as early as 2025.
