Science fiction is one of the most important and popular media genres of all time. Whether it be in movies, television, comic books, novels, video games, and so on, sci-fi has brought forth some of the greatest media franchises ever made. Star Wars, Alien, Blade Runner, Star Trek, Avatar—the list goes on—are all examples of this and, the importance of the genre.
