X-Men: Viral Marvel Rumor With Bizarre Beast & Wolverine Images Gets Disproven

A viral X-Men rumor featuring bizarre images of the Beast and Wolverine has recently been debunked. The rumors were about what the cast of the original Fox’s X-Men franchise almost looked like.

As shared by @GothicHeros on X, the tweet featured a carousel of pictures of several stars in costume, posing as the fan-favorite league of mutants. This prompted fans to ask where these photos came from.

However, those pictures have now been disproven by another user, @kittischmitti, on X. Clearing the air on the photos, the user revealed that these are “actually from a picture book from 2003 that shoots to adapt the first couple issues of Ultimate X-Men.” Shared with the tweet was an X-Men Ultimate Picture Book featuring Wolverine.

To further support the claim that the pictures were from a picture book, the X handle added another photo from the Ultimate Spider-Man picture book. The caption further explained, “They also did one for Ultimate Spider-Man but it used paintings for all the images of the suit.”

Meanwhile, the X-Men are also set to star in Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. As confirmed by Marvel Studios, several original actors will reprise their iconic mutant roles for this multiverse crossover event.

The list includes returning cast members like Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier/Professor X, Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto, James Marsden as Scott Summers/Cyclops, Rebecca Romijn as Raven Darkhölme/Mystique, Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast, Alan Cumming as Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler, and Channing Tatum as Remy LeBeau/Gambit (after his appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine).

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, this next installment in the Avengers saga features a massive ensemble cast, with Robert Downey Jr. starring as the main antagonist, Doctor Doom. The story in Doomsday is expected to bring together the Avengers, the new Fantastic Four, and the X-Men as they cross over from different universes to stop Doom’s multiversal war.

Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters on December 18, 2026.
