WWE icon AJ Lee could be poised for a sensational comeback after the ending to Clash In Paris on Netflix.

The former Divas Champion hasn’t wrestled for WWE in over a decade, but fans are certain she’ll make a shock return in the coming weeks given how this weekend’s premium live event ended.

After Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker were barred from ringside during Sunday’s main event following their attack on Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins appeared to be all alone as he defended the World Heavyweight Championship.

However, The Visionary had some backup in the form of his real life wife Becky Lynch, who hit CM Punk with a low blow to helped her husband retain the hold over Punk, LA Knight and Jey Uso.

The married couple stood tall over the Second City Saint, who might need someone in his corner to take on the troublesome duo.

Viewers on Netflix are adamant that should be AJ, who was a trailblazer in the wrestling world before stepping away in 2015.

‘Break the internet please AJ,’ begged viewer @wallflowerperry, while fan @Swerveinmone added: ‘It’s time to come home, AJ Lee.’

‘Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch are aligned. There is only one person who can help CM Punk. AJ LEE,’ agreed @ProWFinesse, as @AmanVats10 predicted: ‘Aj Lee is finally coming back for sure 🤞’

According to Fightful Select, her name ‘has been brought up in numerous pitches internally of late’, despite previously suggesting she was done with wrestling.

The outlet added that their sources were ‘hopeful that the pitches they’ve been hearing about were related to’ the ending of Clash In Paris, while ‘some of those pitches weren’t quite shut down like they used to be’.

The idea of AJ returning might not be as farfetched as fans have thought, as boss Triple H – real name Paul Levesque – left the door open for both stars as far back as 2020, with his wife Stephanie McMahon full of praise at the time.

She told Metro at the time: ‘I personally enjoy watching both of them perform. I think Punk’s been pretty vocal that he’s not interested in an in-ring return right now, but for sure, that would be interesting.

‘And I would love to see AJ Lee back in the women’s division.’

WWE Clash In Paris is available to rewatch on demand via Netflix.
