As their disappointing season — and their playoff streak — comes to a close, the Toronto Maple Leafs made good on their promise to shake things up.

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment fired general manager Brad Treliving on Monday, bringing an end to his three-season tenure with the club.

While the Treliving-led Maple Leafs beat the Ottawa Senators last post-season to advance to the second round for just the second time in nine years, the squad saw a major regression this season. They sit second-last in the Atlantic Division and will miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Treliving now becomes the second high-profile team official to lose their job in as many days, as the Vegas Golden Knights fired Stanley Cup-winning coach Bruce Cassidy on Sunday.
