Wife found dead with husband in remote cottage ‘murder-suicide’

POLICE are investigating a suspected murder-suicide amid claims a husband killed his wife before taking his own life. The bodies of Jim Mair, 43, and his wife Stacy, 35, were found on Corsliehill Road, on the outskirts of Houston, Renfrewshire.

Detectives are investigating a suspected murder-suicide amid claims a tree surgeon killed his wife before himself.

Stacy Mair, 35, and her husband Jim were found dead in their remote cottage on the outskirts of Renfrewshire, Scotland.

Police are treating both their deaths as unexplained as a post-mortem takes place.

The couple, who were married in 2019, both worked for TRS Tree Surgery, based in Glasgow.

Their home was surrounded by detectives and officers carrying out forensic examinations. They closed off all the surrounding roads.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ‘An investigation is ongoing into the deaths of a 35-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man in the Houston area.

‘Around 7.50am on Monday, 27 July we received a report of concern for a person in Corsliehill Road.

‘Emergency services attended, and the body of a man and a woman were found nearby.
