Who is Tiffany Pollard? Inside the career of the Big Brother star back causing havoc

This series of Big Brother UK has seen plenty of drama this year on ITV already, but the latest addition to the house has led to even further escalation.

The housemates welcomed Big Brother icon Tiffany Pollard to the fold this week, and sparks immediately flew.

In scenes screened on October 28, Tiffany was quickly in the eye of the storm after seemingly saying something that insulted Philip, which led to Rochelle also getting involved.

Fans are excited to see how it all plays out across the rest of the episodes, but for newcomers to the show, they may not be too aware of Tiffany’s already iconic status in the Big Brother history books.

So, let’s get to know her a little more…

Who is Tiffany Pollard?

Tiffany, 44, is an American reality TV star from New York who rose to fame back in 2006 when she appeared on Flavor Of Love.

That dating show, which aired on VH1, saw her gain quick fame thanks to her larger-than-life personality and canny ability at delivering one-liners, which led to her getting her own dating show spin-off called I Love New York, which ran for three seasons.

This led to a string of further shows, including New York Goes to Hollywood and New York Goes to Work.

She has also hosted her own YouTube series called Brunch with Tiffany and appeared on episodes on the likes of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, House of Villains, and The Weakest Link.

When was she first on Big Brother?

Tiffany famously was a part of the lineup for the 17th series of Celebrity Big Brother UK on Channel 5 back in 2016.

Appearing alongside the likes of Angie Bowie, David Gest and Gemma Collins, Tiffany was responsible for one of the most memorable moments in the show’s history during her time in the house.

It came after Angie Bowie was told by producers that her ex-husband David Bowie had died, with Angie whispering to Tiffany: ‘You can’t say a word: David’s dead.’

Tiffany proceeded to collapse on the floor, wailing, and it soon became clear that she had mistaken David Bowie with fellow housemate David Gest.

After ‘David’s dead’ went on to become somewhat memed, Tiffany clearly had another catchphrase to add to her repertoire, even cashing in by selling T-shirts with the slogan.

However, she pulled her new clothing line after Gest died just months later, after suffering a stroke at age 62.

In 2022, Tiffany claimed she was being haunted by Gest’s ghost as she unpacked the viral Celebrity Big Brother moment on Watch What Happens Live.

‘David and I have not made up,’ she replied. ‘And I did not rewatch that episode, but he does haunt my kitchen. Every once in a while…’

She added: ‘David, please stop coming into the kitchen and messing with the knives and forks. He’s mad at me.’

How has her return to Big Brother gone down?

Tiffany hosted a party for the housemates upon her entry into the house, but while things started well enough, they quickly turned sour.

Upon meeting the new housemates, she told Big Brother: ‘I felt like they were really excited to greet me, but at the same time, I know that they’re holding back. A few of the Housemates are not happy that I’m here, but for the majority of them, they’re very happy to see me.’

Tensions rose after Tiffany said something that insulted Philip, with Philip confronting her, saying, ‘I’m very upset with what you said Tiffany, to be honest with you.’

The Celebrity Big Brother star didn’t back down, asking: ‘Excuse me, do you have a problem with me?’

Philip eventually stormed off and headed to the bedroom, telling Rochelle: ‘She’s f****** nasty, through and through.’

Tiffany meanwhile continued to fume: ‘That was some bulll**** and I’m the houseguest, I just got here. And I gotta deal with him?’

Viewers were pretty entertained, with many believing Philip didn’t stand a chance going toe to toe with Tiffany.

‘This was sooo needed; it was getting dry. She’s earning her money for sure’ said another.
