An all-day prayer festival is set to take place on the National Mall this weekend to spark a ‘movement of renewal’ in America.

Spearheaded by Donald Trump’s administration, ‘Rededicate 250: National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving’ will feature evangelical leaders and special appearances from top officials.

Reverend Paula White-Cain, who works as a senior faith advisor to the White House, said: ‘It’s about the history and the foundations of our nation, which was built on Christian values, on the Bible.

‘This is really truly rededicating the country to God.’

Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other top Christian speakers will attend the event.

Trump himself won’t attend the event, the Washington Post reported, but has recorded a video message to broadcast.

In his second term, Trump and his allies have taken what they call a more ‘Christian’ approach to leadership.

Secretary of War Hegseth has long called for a Christian nationalist approach to leadership.

At the beginning of the war with Iran, it was revealed that American soldiers were told that the Iran conflict was ‘God’s plan’ to bring about the end of the world by officials.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation received more than 200 complaints from personnel across all branches of the armed forces.

One complainant said their commander kicked off their combat readiness briefing by ‘urging us not to be “afraid” of the looming threat of war.

They said: ‘He urged us to tell our troops that this was “all part of God’s divine plan” and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ

‘He said that: “’ President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.”‘

According to a copy of the email shared by journalist Jonathan Larsen, the commander said this with a ‘big grin on his face’.

Even while touting Christian values as a part of his party, Trump found himself in hot water after sharing an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus Christ – infuriating even the most staunch MAGA supporters.

He later claimed it showed him as a ‘doctor’, but the damage was done.

One replied to the now deleted image: ‘The book of Revelations speaks of this, are you literally depicting yourself as a saviour or messiah? Just asking, as the Book of Revelations tells us the Antichrist will claim he is.’

Trump also found himself embroiled in a battle of words against Pope Leo, who he said was ‘catering to the radical left’.
