Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Wednesday Season 2 Part 2.Bringing back dead characters can be a gamble, but in a supernatural world like Wednesday, it comes a lot more naturally. The return of the deceased Principal Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie) as a spirit guide might be fan service, given her shocking death in Season 1, but that also does not make it worthless. The nature of her return allows Christie to explore her natural chemistry with Jenna Ortega in a very different way, becoming more playful and fun than we've ever seen her while still being the stern, disciplined teacher to Wednesday that we all know. For our titular heroine, it's also a unique way to portray her internal emotional conflict, creating new opportunities as well as some degree of closure.
