We Head to Snezhnaya in Genshin Impact 7.0 Next Month

We got a release date for the 7.0 Genshin Impact and introduction of the Snezhnaya during the new Special Program stream, as expected, and the update isn’t too far away. It marked our first good look at the area following an earlier preview. We’ll get to head to the home of the Harbingers, Fatui, and Tsaritsa on August 12, 2026. Only one new five star character will be introduced, and she’s named Odette. However, the Traveler will get a Night Hunt in Snow outfit, get to kick off the new Archon Quest, and take part in four events. There are also three new redemption codes for Primogems, which are “Everwinter,” “Odette0812,” and “OntoSnezhnaya.” Those can be redeemed until August 3, 2026. 

First, here is the trailer going over the Snezhnaya update, region, and new characters in Genshin Impact 7.0. It begins with the Aether version of the Traveler avatar trudging through a snowstorm into the area. We then learn the “gods” never “showed favor” to that region. After that, we see Odette, who is a five-star Cryo character who uses a sword. (Her signature five-star weapon Whitelake Frostfeather will also appear on a banner after the update.) She used to be a Fatui under Signora. The new four-star Alyosha, who is an Electro polearm user we get for free via the new “Everwinter Without Mercy” Archon Quest, also appears. Glimpses at the new Firearm third-person shooter elements come up after that, as do peeks at things like the Chimeric Winged Lion and Immortal Construct bosses and other enemies. We also see Harbingers and Fatui, of course.

A dedicated Events Overview trailer came up to show off Great Expeditionist Challenge, Mutual Aid in Bloom: Into the Frostlands, Overflowing Abundance, and Trial of the Bastion. We also know the first phase character banners will be the five-stars Odette and Arlecchino with newcomer Alyosha among the four-stars, and the second phase will have Flins and Ineffa reruns.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices and will get its Snezhnaya 7.0 update on August 12, 2026.
