You might agree that Angel Reese is quite vocal about her thoughts. We’ve seen her speak against WNBA refs after games, blasting them for poor officiating despite knowing about fines. But the recent comments she’s made are huge—not just for her fans, but for the Chicago Sky locker room too.
As she shared, “I’m not settling for the same s— we did this year. We have to get good players. We have to get great players. … However, I can help to get the best here, that’s what I’m going to do this offseason,” in a press conference, the reaction was immediate.
But Reese wasn’t limited to just that. She even called out veteran Courtney Vandersloot. When asked whether she could ever return to form after her ACL injury, she dismissed the possibility. She also denied the ability of Rachel Banham and Hailey Van Lith to lead a playoff contender.
Those words have stung, and now the Sky’s locker room is preparing to respond as one, against Reese. Annie Costabile of Front Office Sports reports: “A team meeting is planned at which players are expected to address Reese directly.”
