Wagner Moura & Greta Lee Netflix Sci-Fi Movie Gets Thrilling Trailer

Netflix has shared the official trailer for The Last House. The upcoming sci-fi thriller movie featuring acclaimed stars Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent) and Greta Lee (The Morning Show) is now scheduled to premiere on August 7, 2026.

“A family of four is suddenly sealed inside their home with no way out and must work together to survive against both their dwindling resources and the mysterious, looming threat keeping them trapped,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.

What happens in Netflix’s The Last House trailer?

The video shows Moura and Lee as a married couple who suddenly get trapped inside their house along with their children. Soon, they’ll discover that something horrifying is outside waiting to get in. The trailer highlights the movie’s intense and thrilling contained story, featuring parents who must push past their limits for the sake of survival. According to Netflix, the home used in the film was hand-built and meticulously designed to cater to the physical and psychological realities of long-term indoor confinement.

The Last House also stars Riley Chung (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), Emma Ho (The Baker), Noah Alexander Sosnowski (Section 8), and Gabriel Barbosa (May December). French filmmaker Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me) directed the sci-fi thriller movie from a screenplay written by Love and Monsters scribe Matthew Robinson. The film is produced by the Incredible Hulk director and 3 Arts Entertainment’s Oly Obst, alongside Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kori Adelson for Chernin Entertainment. Thomas Benski, Cecile Gaget, Lars Sylvest, Thorsten Schumacher, and Damian Anderson are serving as executive producers.

This marks Moura’s first major movie following the critical success of last year’s The Secret Agent movie, which earned him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. The Narcos star will next be seen in the upcoming drama movie The Last Day with Alicia Vikander and in the horror thriller Flesh of the Gods with Kristen Stewart. Meanwhile, Lee is currently starring in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 movie, voicing the main antagonist, Lilypad.
