Trump says he's awarding former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani the presidential medal of freedom

US president Donald Trump has said he’s awarding Rudolph Giuliani the Presidential Medal of Freedom, announcing the honour the day after his political ally and former New York mayor was badly injured in a traffic accident.
