It’s fair to say that the supernatural miniseries Below is off to a strong start.

Set in a remote town being ravaged by a mysterious sea creature, the series was a surprise hit among critics – and wiithin a day of its release, it had already shot to the top of Netflix’s most-watched right now chart in the UK, ahead of recent originals on the service like Monster, The Gentlemen and East Of Eden.

The Canadian show features Josh Hartnett as a fisherman fighting to protect the town, and his own family, from an unknown threat, along with a host of faces who might look a little familiar.

Below marks the latest stage in Josh Hartnett’s major Hollywood comeback.

The leading man had his breakthrough moment in the late 90s, appearing in films as varied as The Virgin Suicides, 40 Days And 40 Nights, Black Hawk Down and Pearl Harbor.

Following what he’s previously described as a “hiatus from people’s minds”, Josh began racking up some massive roles in the last few years, including Christopher Nolan’s epic Oppenheimer, M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap, the Black Mirror episode Beyond The Sea and the award-winning TV dramedy The Bear.

He can also currently be seen in the erotic thriller Verity, which is in cinemas now.

Mackenzie Davis

After that, she joined the star-studded cast of Blade Runner 2049, shared the screen with Charlize Theron in the domestic drama Tully and acted in the queer holiday romance Happiest Season.

Her other work includes the horror Speak No Evil, the sci-movie My Notes On Mars and the dystopian TV drama Station Eleven.

Of course, the chances are you probably know him for his performance as Winona Ryder’s eldest on-screen son, Jonathan Byers, in the hit Netflix sci-fi drama Stranger Things, a role he played in all five seasons.

She also has some impressive film credits to her name, including the coming-of-age drama Rocks, the George Clooney Netflix drama Jay Kelly and the animated movie Where Is Anne Frank, in which she lent her voice to the character Kitty.
