Is there a better TV villain than the Cigarette Smoking Man? Even if you can name one, The X-Files' most notorious antagonist is certainly up there. The character, played to perfection by William B. Davis, was a constant lurking presence on the show from the pilot all the way through to its very end (both times it ended). But of the 218 episodes of the long-running series, only one was penned by Davis himself. Season 7's "En Ami" seems unassuming at first, as the CSM lured Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) to his side for the sake of securing medical knowledge that may cure cancer, but it's a creepfest to its core.
