Trashing hotel rooms is perhaps one of the most well-known tropes in rock and roll, and there are quite a few: out-of-control parties, revolving doors of women, exorbitant quantities of alcohol, decadence for decadence's sake. Sex, drugs, rock and roll. You get the picture. The concept of a rock star goes far beyond music. While this stereotype does not necessarily describe all rock musicians, it is fair to say that there are many who align with the cliché. Destroying hotel rooms is not just rock and roll mythology: for some musicians, it was a lifestyle.
