After smashing projections in its opening weekend, Christopher Nolan's latest epic, The Odyssey, is showing incredible resilience in its sophomore frame. The movie shattered the records of Nolan's The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises to deliver the biggest second-weekend haul of his illustrious career. The Odyssey dropped by just 29% this weekend, retaining the number one spot on the box office charts. By comparison, Ryan Coogler's acclaimed horror film Sinners dropped by a mere 5% in its second weekend last year. Holds this strong are incredibly rare in this day and age; even Nolan's Oppenheimer fell by 43% in its second weekend. Word on the street is that The Odyssey is tracking to overtake not only Oppenheimer's $975 million lifetime global haul, but also those of Nolan's second and third Batman movies.
