Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey continues to dominate the global box office, reaching another significant milestone less than two weeks after its theatrical debut. The historical epic has now surpassed The Devil Wears Prada 2 in worldwide earnings, making it one of the highest-grossing films of 2026.

The Odyssey just becomes the fourth biggest movie of 2026

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has climbed to fourth place among the highest-grossing films of 2026, reaching the milestone less than two weeks after its theatrical debut.

After 12 days in theaters, The Odyssey has earned $727.9 million worldwide, comprising $320.5 million from domestic theaters and $407.4 million from international markets. The film now ranks behind only Toy Story 5, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and Michael on the list of this year’s biggest releases.

The achievement is particularly notable because The Odyssey has not yet opened in China, leaving another major theatrical market still to come. Based on its current performance, the film is widely expected to become the latest 2026 release to surpass $1 billion worldwide, as per Variety.

The latest total also moves The Odyssey ahead of The Devil Wears Prada 2. According to Box Office Mojo, the sequel concluded its theatrical run with approximately $690.9 million worldwide. This includes more than $220.5 million from domestic theaters and over $470.3 million internationally.

The film is also expected to remain a significant presence at the box office after the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Variety reported that The Odyssey is projected to collect $50 million to $60 million during its third weekend despite competition from Marvel Studios latest release.

Written and directed by Nolan, The Odyssey premiered in theaters on July 17, 2026. The epic features an ensemble cast led by Matt Damon as Odysseus, alongside Tom Holland as Telemachus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Robert Pattinson as Antinous, and several other prominent actors.
