The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum will mark the end of an era for the broader film franchise. A significant reason this project is so exciting is that it marks our first return to Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema's live-action The Lord of the Rings franchise since The Hobbit. Peter Jackson himself serves as the producer of The Hunt for Gollum, while Andy Serkis takes over the director's chair. We'll also see the triumphant return of Ian McKellen as Gandalf, and it's been heavily suggested that Elijah Wood's Frodo will be featured as well. However, one particular face will be missing.
