Supernatural spent fifteen seasons raising the stakes. What began as a series about local legends and things that go bump in the night eventually grew into a story involving Heaven, Hell, alternate universes, and God himself. For many fans, that's part of the appeal. The show's mythology became increasingly complex as Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) found themselves at the center of conflicts far bigger than either of them could have imagined in the early days. But the best thing about Supernatural only lasted one season.
