The Batman Part II’s Matt Reeves Defends Major Creative Choice Returning for DC Sequel

Matt Reeves has come out to defend a major creative choice from The Batman. He revealed that the same creative approach will return for the sequel.

Reeves has confirmed that the “film out” process used in the first movie will also be utilized in The Batman Part II. The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes director took to his X account to answer a question about the matter, confirming he will use the “film out” process for the second Batman film as well.

In a separate post, Reeves explained why he chose the process instead of shooting directly on film. Matt Reeves stated that while film can offer the movie texture, digital allows for a level of precision that can be rewarding if used right: “You know exactly what you are getting.”

Who is starring in Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II?

The upcoming sequel promises to dive deeper into Reeves’ captivating vision for Gotham, unveiling new characters and an intricate storyline that will keep audiences hooked. The Batman Part II will see several key characters return from the first film, along with several new cast members. Robert Pattinson will be returning as Bruce Wayne/ Batman. Jeffrey Wright and Andy Serkis will be reprising their roles as Jim Gordon and Alfred Pennyworth, respectively. Colin Farrell will reprise his popular role as The Penguin, who has risen through Gotham’s criminal underworld since the events of the first film.

New faces who have joined the cast include Sebastian Stan, reportedly confirmed to play Harvey Dent. The character goes on to become the villain Two-Face. Scarlett Johansson and Charles Dance have also been cast in the movie. Johansson is rumored to play Dent’s wife, Gilda Dent, while Charles Dance is reported to play Charles Dent, Harvey’s father.

While Sebastian Koch and Brian Tyree Henry have also joined the cast, it is unknown which characters they might be playing in the film.
