Series Adaptation Renewals

Will Trent, based on Karin Slaughter’s book series, has been renewed for its fifth season. If you’ve yet to watch, you can stream the series on Hulu. Young Sherlock, inspired by Andrew Lane’s Young series, will return on Amazon Prime for a second season, and Guy Ritchie will return to direct the first two episodes.

Highly anticipating Colleen Hoover’s Verity adaptation?

We’ve got a teaser trailer and first looks for the Verity adaptation that stars Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett. The film hits theaters in October and follows a struggling writer hired to finish a successful author’s series after she’s injured. Watch the teaser on YouTube, and take a look at People Magazine’s still shots.

Netflix is working on a modern reimagining of Scooby-Doo, which is live-action and set at a summer camp! Deadline has a poster image, and while there’s no official release date yet, Scooby-Doo: Origins has started filming.

Everything is ridiculous.

It was already hilarious to watch Henry Cavill stuff his muscles into period clothing for the Enola Holmes adaptations, and now it turns out that gel manicures existed in Victorian London.
