We all know about sequels. Cinema history is filled with them. We've all heard about movies and franchises for decades now, and it's not always true when some talk about this in a negative light. The idea that sequels tend to never surpass the original is as recognizable and as untrue as remakes never being as good, if not better, as their predecessors. Sequels are an essential part of movie-making, and a great source of entertainment and financial success that has picked up tremendous fame for much of the 20th century and well into our current one.
