You can be a fan of action movies without necessarily dipping into the martial arts genre specifically, if you really want to. You might well even get by on the likes of Die Hard, the better Mission: Impossible movies, and some of John Woo’s masterpieces for a while, especially since a few of those do have impressive hand-to-hand fights, often alongside shootouts and other action sequences.
