October may be spooky season, but the one genre that never goes off the menu is crime. It's just as popular in January as it is in the summer. Recent months have seen the return of fan-favorite shows such as The Gentlemen and MobLand, while Netflix has released a string of wildly popular true-crime documentaries such as The Crash, Maternal Instinct, and Should I Marry a Murderer? This week saw one of the television industry's most successful moguls, Taylor Sheridan, return with his own contribution to the genre. The series in question premiered in 2022 and has proven to be a massive success for Paramount+. It's currently Sheridan's second-longest-running series for the streamer, behind only his magnum opus, Yellowstone, and the Jeremy Renner-led Mayor of Kingstown, which is all set to end its run with a fifth season.
