Super Furry Animals have announced a 20th anniversary reissue for ‘Love Kraft’ and a set of comeback UK and Ireland dates for 2026.

The Welsh band have not played live since December 2016, but they have confirmed details of the ‘Super Furry Animals Supacabra Britain & Ireland 2026 Tour’, with six dates to take place in May next year.

They will kick off in Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre on May 6, with dates to follow in Glasgow, Llandudno, Cardiff and Manchester, before they round off with a huge show in London’s O2 Brixton Academy on May 22.

Support at the shows will come from disco rock duo Getdown Services, Welsh psych rockers Melin Melyn and South London trio Honeyglaze, and tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (October 3) – you will be able to find yours here.

The band have also announced a 20th anniversary reissue for their seventh studio album ‘Love Kraft’. It will be available on double vinyl, 2CDs, including the 22-track bonus CD ‘Kiss Me With Apocalypse’, and digital formats on October 24 via Cardiff-based independent label Strangetown Records. Pre-order/pre-save it here.

Four previously unheard tracks will be included, including ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Flu’, with lead vocals from drummer Daf Ieuan, which will premiere on BBC Radio 6 Music on October 2.

‘Love Kraft’ saw all the members of Super Furry Animals contributing songs and lead vocals for the first time, and the record was named after a sex shop near the Cardiff offices of the band’s management team, although it is also a nod to the horror/sci-fi writer H.P. Lovecraft.

In a review of ‘Love Kraft’ on its original release in 2005, NME wrote: “Until the most remote Amazonian jungle tribes are humming ‘Demons’, then, ‘Love Kraft’ will remain just another mind-bendingly great, often dazzling SFA record – not quite up there with ‘Radiator’ due to its brace of shonky ballad filler ( ‘Cloudberries’ and ‘Cabin Fever’), but easily as engaging and full of the wild possibilities of pop music as anything else in their peerless canon. Dive, dive, dive…”

The most recent Super Furry Animals album was 2009’s ‘Dark Days/Light Years’ and their last tour was the ‘Fuzzy Logic and Radiator 20th Anniversary’ tour in 2016.

Last year, they revealed they sold their trademark tank to Don Henley from the Eagles. They made headlines in the ‘90s by using the vehicle to get to music festivals after they bought it with the promotional budget for their 1996 single ‘If You Don’t Want Me To Destroy You’.
