Steven Spielberg isn't the first name one thinks of when the horror genre is mentioned. There are certainly moments of terror in his Jurassic Park films, but in general, the director's sensibilities tend more towards adventure and emotion than fear. Just look at his proposed Close Encounters of the Third Kind follow-up, Night Skies; that alien horror film metamorphosed into the decidedly non-horrifying E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial. However, on the producing side of things, Spielberg has dipped his toes into the horror genre on multiple occasions.
