2025 was an exceptionally busy year for Stephen King fans, who had three adaptations to talk about, though they weren’t all perceived at the same level of quality. The first adaptation of a classic King novel came early in the year with The Life of Chuck, the heartwarming sci-fi thriller starring Tom Hiddleston. King followed The Life of Chuck with the harrowing horror adaptation, The Long Walk, which grossed over $75 million at the box office against a relatively modest $25 million budget. The film was also directed by Francis Lawrence, best known for his work on The Hunger Games movies. King finished the year with The Running Man, starring Glen Powell, but the film wrapped up its box office run as one of the most disappointing films of the year — it bombed with only $69 million at the box office against a $110 million budget.
