Disgraced reality TV star Stephen Bear has been sentenced to 24 weeks in prison after admitting five breaches of the notification requirements of the sex offenders register.
The former Celebrity Big Brother winner, 36, was sentenced at Thames Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty in early August to five counts of failing to comply with the requirements imposed on him following his previous conviction.
The offences included failing to tell authorities about an international trip to Brazil and failing to notify officers within three days of his eventual return to the UK.
Bear, who lives in Walthamstow, also obtained a replacement passport and two new bank cards without informing authorities as required.
It marks yet another legal blow for the former Ex on the Beach star, who has already served time behind bars after being convicted in 2023 of voyeurism and disclosing private sexual photographs and films involving his ex-girlfriend Georgia Harrison.
Bear was sentenced to 21 months in prison in March 2023 after sharing CCTV footage of himself having sex with Harrison and uploading it to OnlyFans, without her consent.
He served just over 10 months at HMP Brixton before being released in January 2024 and was placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
The latest charges relate in part to Bear’s lengthy stay in Brazil, where he is understood to have travelled in January 2025.
He eventually returned to the UK in April 2026 following the death of his father, but failed to make the required notification to police within three days.
His defence lawyer Jesse Williams told the court that Bear had not realised he was required to inform police about his trip to Brazil.
Williams also offered explanations for the new financial accounts and passport at the centre of the charges.
The court heard that Bear applied for two bank cards after his NatWest card was blocked while he was abroad.
‘He had to pay rent and pay living expenses, and he wanted to make sure that if one account was blocked or didn’t register, then he had another to fall back on,’ Williams said.
Bear also lost his passport while in Brazil and subsequently contacted the British consulate to obtain a replacement.
However, those changes still fell within the information Bear was legally required to disclose under the terms of the sex offenders register.
The 24-week sentence comes amid further legal trouble for the reality star concerning his treatment of Harrison following his release from prison.
Bear has also admitted breaching a restraining order designed to protect the former Love Island star after repeatedly posting about her and his criminal case on social media.
Between March and July last year, he posted about Harrison across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and YouTube, despite the restrictions imposed upon him.
His content included attempts to cast doubt on his previous convictions, accusations against Harrison and her mother, a petition calling for a retrial and efforts to obtain his ex-girlfriend’s bank statements.
Some of the posts were viewed millions of times, while Bear continued publishing material even after a number of his social media accounts were shut down.
Harrison previously provided police with screenshots and screen recordings of the posts and Bear later admitted breaching the restraining order.
Speaking after his guilty plea, she explained why she had chosen not to attend court.
‘I didn’t go to court this week. I didn’t stay away because it’s too hard. I stayed away because being there would give him the one thing he has always wanted and the one thing the manosphere machine runs on: attention. A reaction and a spectacle,’ she told The Sun.
She continued: ‘He shared intimate footage of me without my consent, and when the law caught up with him, he came back for more – because the attention was worth more to him than the consequences.’
Harrison, 31, has become a prominent campaigner against image-based sexual abuse since waiving her right to anonymity during Bear’s original trial.
