Star Wars Finally Unveils New Look At Boba Fett's Return, And It's Gnarly

Following Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012, it was unclear if Boba Fett was still alive in the official Star Wars canon following Return of the Jedi. While the character had been brought back in various books, short stories, and video games set in the Expanded Universe, i.e. Star Wars Legends, those stories were officially cemented as non-canon in 2014. It wasn’t until The Mandalorian season 2’s release in 2020 that it was finally confirmed that Boba survived the Sarlacc.
