What happens in Stanley Tucci’s Masterplan trailer?

The Masterplan trailer introduces Tucci’s character, Roger, as a retired thief who decides to take on one final job. He plans to steal the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in Paris, but pulling off the heist requires more than his experience. So, he recruits two younger specialists to help him.

Tabasco plays Chiara, a cybercrime expert from Italy. Roger describes her as “a hacking wizard.” Meanwhile, Belmondo plays Jay, a French explosives specialist. Their different skills give the team what it needs to tackle the heavily protected museum.

The trailer also reveals a personal connection between the characters. Chiara and Jay are long-lost siblings, while Tucci’s character is their father. As a result, the revelation adds a complicated family dynamic to an already risky mission.

The trio must work together despite their differences as they prepare to infiltrate the Louvre. The trailer mixes the tension of the planned operation with lighter moments between the three characters, giving the movie a crime-comedy edge alongside its thriller elements.

Thomas Vincent directed Masterplan and co-wrote the screenplay with BAFTA-winning writer David Wolstencroft. The project was produced by Marco Rossi, Gaumont, and Amazon MGM Studios, with principal photography taking place on location in France and Italy.

Masterplan will stream exclusively on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories starting October 16, 2026.
