Spider-Noir Season 2 Renewal Gets Good & Bad News

Spider-Noir Season 2 has received yet another renewal update. In a recent interview, one of the stars revealed that they knew nothing about it. However, they said that it was possible under one unsurprising condition.

Spider-Noir Season 2 renewal depends on one major factor, says Li Jun Li

Li Jun Li, who plays Cat Hardy on Spider-Noir, said she did not know about Season 2. However, she expressed her interest in it, stressing chances of it happening hinged on fans and the viewership.

Speaking with The Direct to promote the series, the Sinners actress revealed she and her co-stars had to fulfill contractual obligations. “I honestly don’t know anything about Season 2. I wish I knew,” she said of the potential sophomore installment. “Of course, I love the show so much. I love Cat Hardy so much. I would love for there to be a Season 2, and it really is all dependent on you guys and the viewership.”  

Previously, Nicolas Cage expressed uncertainty about Season 2. However, he said that regardless of it happening, the show’s inaugural entry worked by itself as a standalone story and that the creatives accomplished their goal.

Despite this, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who are executive producers on the Amazon Prime Video series, are keen on making more seasons. While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the latter said he “would be happy to do more.” Meanwhile, Lord stressed that as TV producers, they couldn’t turn down the opportunity.

While Season 2 is unconfirmed, it is certainly possible owing to the series’ continued success. As of June 10, the show holds the #2 spot on Prime Video globally, as per FlixPatrol, just below another widely successful series, Off Campus, whose second season has been confirmed. It is also the #2 title in the TV Shows and overall categories in the United States.

Meanwhile, all episodes of Spider-Noir Season 1 are streaming. Oren Uziel, the show’s creator, is also serving as showrunner alongside Steve Lightfoot.

Additional cast members besides Li and Cage include Lamorne Morris, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson.
