Key Takeaways
Solana leads the latest DEX-volume ranking. Four chains handled $4.40B in 24 hours. That total trails its seven-day pace by 37%. Ethereum ranks third in the latest window. Robinhood Chain’s earlier surge was crypto-native.Solana returns to first place as trading slows
Solana has returned to the top of the latest DEX-volume ranking, though the pace of activity across the leading networks has eased. Solana, Robinhood Chain, Ethereum and BSC processed about $4.40 billion in the latest 24-hour window – roughly 37% below their combined average daily volume over the previous week.
The latest DefiLlama data puts Solana first with $1.637 billion in 24-hour DEX volume. Robinhood Chain followed with $1.379 billion, Ethereum recorded $721.6 million, and BSC handled $659.41 million.

Solana’s lead follows a brief period in which Robinhood Chain had taken first place. A September 5 report, citing DefiLlama, placed Robinhood Chain’s daily DEX volume at $1.89 billion, ahead of Solana and BSC. Solana has since moved back into first place, while the combined turnover of the four largest chains has dropped below its recent weekly pace.
Ethereum’s ranking changes with the timeframe
Ethereum ranked third in the latest 24-hour window, ahead of BSC by about $62 million. The longer comparison is less straightforward. BSC recorded more DEX volume over the past seven days, at $9.934 billion versus Ethereum’s $8.562 billion. Over 30 days, Ethereum was again ahead, with $39.263 billion compared with BSC’s $37.153 billion.
That gap shows why a daily leaderboard should not be treated as a permanent measure of chain demand. A 24-hour result can shift quickly with large stablecoin swaps, a trading incentive, token launches or one active venue. The seven- and 30-day figures provide a more useful check on whether the ranking reflects a short-lived burst or a broader change in activity.
Robinhood Chain’s earlier surge was driven by crypto trading
Robinhood Chain was built to support tokenized stocks and other financial products, but its first wave of activity came from crypto trading. In August, the chain passed $25 billion in cumulative DEX volume. Our earlier analysis found that memecoins, stablecoin pairs and other crypto swaps accounted for much of that turnover, while Stock Tokens represented a smaller share.
This context limits what can be inferred from the latest fall in daily volume. DefiLlama’s chain table combines all tracked DEX swaps. Stablecoin trades, meme-coin transactions and stock-linked tokens all contribute to the same figure, so the data does not identify which category accounted for the slower day.
Robinhood Chain’s daily turnover has eased from its recent high, while Solana has posted the largest DEX total in the latest window. A claim about meme-coin demand would require more specific evidence, such as active-wallet data, launch activity and liquidity in individual token pools.
Solana leads a quieter DEX session
The four-chain comparison shows two things at once: Solana handled the most DEX volume in the latest 24-hour period, and traders moved less capital across these major venues than they had on an average day during the prior week. Ethereum’s differing seven- and 30-day position underlines how quickly those daily rankings can change.
For now, the data supports a limited conclusion. Trading has cooled from a recently elevated pace, while Solana has reclaimed the lead. A longer sequence of lower volumes, accompanied by weaker wallet participation and thinner liquidity, would be needed to show a more durable retreat in speculative activity.
