Slow Horses Season 7 Release Window Already Confirmed Amid Season 8 Renewal

Slow Horses has barely reached its sixth-season launch, yet its next chapter already has a target year. Christopher Chung, who plays Roddy Ho, says the Apple TV series has already decided on the Season 7 release schedule.

Slow Horses Season 7 release date could be expected next year

The schedule behind Slow Horses has become part of its identity. The series arrived in April 2022 and delivered two seasons that year. Season 3 followed in 2023, Season 4 in 2024, and Season 5 in 2025. With Season 6 arriving September 16, 2026, the production has maintained a one-season-per-year pace since its launch year. Chung discussed Season 7 with ScreenRant’s Liam Crowley during the show’s Season 6 world premiere at TIFF.

Chung stopped short of naming a specific month, but his answer pointed toward next year. When asked about a 2027 launch, the actor replied, “I think that’s the plan,” before describing the production cycle as running “pretty much like clockwork since season 3.” The show has not formally announced a 2027 date, so the exact timing remains open.

Season 7 appears to be moving along nicely behind the scenes. Gary Oldman previously revealed that cameras were expected to roll in October 2025, and reports now indicate that filming has wrapped. The show also tends to favor the fall for its premieres after Season 1, making a 2027 autumn release possible. Still, Apple TV’s crowded schedule could ultimately shuffle those plans.

Plenty is happening around the series beyond its next batch of episodes. Ben Vanstone will handle the writing for Season 7 after Will Smith exited the showrunner role following Season 5, and Gaby Chiappe guided Season 6. The plot remains firmly under lock and key.

Season 6 is also entering its Apple TV debut with a flawless 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. As for what comes next, Apple TV has yet to order Season 8 officially. Oldman previously indicated that the spy drama could continue as long as the streamer remains happy with its performance and Mick Herron keeps adding new Slough House novels to the source material. So, there’s a chance that fans might get another season in 2028.
