The release date estimate for Scarpetta Season 2 is highly anticipated among fans of the first season. Based on Patricia Cornwell’s iconic novel series of the same name, the show features an incredible star cast and a gripping crime drama. The release date estimate for Scarpetta Season 2 is sometime in 2027. This is based on the time it would take the studio to produce the second season.

When Prime Video announced the show, it had ordered two seasons (via TV Insider). This means the show will return for at least one more installment. Furthermore, the filming of Season 1 reportedly began in October 2024 and ended in March 2025. Consequently, the show debuted on March 11, 2026.

According to TV Insider, filming for the second season began earlier this month. So, if the next installment takes a similar amount of time for shooting and post-production, it could air sometime in mid- to late 2027 at the earliest. Needless to say, the filming can take longer or shorter based on the scope of Season 2.

As shared above, Scarpetta Season 2 is already in production. Similar to Season 1, it will reportedly continue to explore two timelines.

The debut season incorporated elements from Book 1, Postmortem, and Book 25, Autopsy. Season 2, however, is expected to adapt elements from Book 4, Cruel and Unusual, and Book 5, The Body Farm.

The cast of Scarpetta Season 2 could feature Nicole Kidman, Rosy McEwen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Jake Cannavale, and Hunter Parrish, among others.
