The idea that there are top-secret agencies covertly operating around the world has been a staple of Hollywood films since 1962's Dr. No, whichintroduced Sean Connery's James Bondas Agent 007 of Britain's MI6. In the years since, there's been the the Mission: Impossible series' IMF; Kingsman of Kingsman: The Secret Service and its sequel; and Treadstone and Blackbriar, the CIA black-ops programs behind the Bourne franchise, just to name a few. But most of the time, these organizations are found in more serious films — and rarely in the sci-fi genre, which is why a franchise like Men in Black stands out from the crowd. Imaginative, funny, and not long for the world of streaming, with the first three films set to leave Hulu on September 1.
