Thanks to BTS, who are reuniting this week after a years-long sabbatical, Korean culture has become synonymous with bubblegum pop and sappy television dramas. However, a couple of decades ago, filmmakers like Bong Joon-ho and Park Chan-wook were making disturbing psychological thrillers that remain classics to this day. It makes sense, then, for a movie that was released right in the middle of these two eras to combine the best of both worlds. The movie in question featured plenty of blood and gore, but was, at its core, a sentimental father-daughter story. It's currently streaming on Netflix, but is set to leave the streamer very soon.
