Though married to former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce, Kylie Kelce shared a unique take on the “Wives And Girlfriends” tag. She seemingly takes issue with the WAG label because it ties women to their partners’ identities, not because of the women who took the lifestyle to the next level.
“I always felt like the term WAG itself reduced the women to being defined by the role that their husband held,” Kylie told Michelle Obama on the IMO podcast. “I was fortunate on the Eagles we had [women who were] lawyers, nurses, educators. We had these women who seriously accomplished in their own right.
“And I’m like, ‘Don’t reduce yourself to get in line with him. You have your own stuff going on.’ I was always really excited about the women with the Eagles, and never wanted them to be diminished.”
Soon after Women of the NFL shared Kylie’s words through an Instagram post, Dak Prescott’s estranged partner, Sarah Jane Ramos, hit the repost button.
Ramos’ opinion aligned with Kylie’s, and she has just taken a step toward a career in real estate, seemingly moving away from the NFL world. A couple of weeks ago, she shared an Instagram Story in which she showcased the Law of Agency textbook for a 30-hour course at Champions School of Real Estate. She was already “2/6th of the way through” the book.
Before taking an interest in real estate and meeting Prescott, Ramos studied criminalistics and criminal science at Florida State University. She later joined the wine and spirits business after working for the Marriott Hotels.
Meanwhile, Kylie Kelce has established herself as a former field hockey player-turned-podcaster. With a communications degree from Cabrini University, she launched the Not Gonna Lie podcast in December 2024. She also works as a consultant for the Eagles Autism Foundation and helps organize fundraisers for them. She is also the ambassador for Dove’s Body Confidence Sport Collective.
Kylie also shared how Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, played a role in changing her perspective around the “WAG” title.
“Well, the interesting part about that is it then puts the focus on these women, and some of them who are, they do have the time, or they have the interest in signing up for those opportunities,” Kylie continued.
Kylie emphasized that label shifts attention away from what people would actually want to know about these women. Using Brittany’s example, she highlighted how the founding co-owner of the Kansas City Current works for women’s sports. Her impact on women’s soccer in the Kansas City area has been huge.
“Reducing things that women have going on is, I find it underwhelming,” Kylie added. “I would far rather hear about the stories of how they’re impacting their community, what jobs they hold, what they focused on what their interests were personally.”
Kylie and Brittany continue to redefine what it means to be a partner of an NFL superstar. In the meantime, Ramos is quietly endorsing Kylie’s powerful words. After all, she is refusing to let her NFL past define her new real estate ambitions.
