A blood-soaked dark comedy featuring Samara Weaving has set its streaming release date. Audiences who missed its theatrical run will finally get a chance to see what all the reviews are about.

The bloody dark comedy Over Your Dead Body lands on AMC+ on July 31, 2026, giving audiences a chance to watch the chaotic thriller from their living rooms (via When To Stream).

The announcement caps a busy release cycle that started with a world premiere at SXSW, continued with a US cinema launch on April 24, and transitioned to video-on-demand on May 26. International viewers reportedly gained access through Prime Video earlier this month, on June 10.

Jorma Taccone directed Over Your Dead Body, which pairs Samara Weaving with Jason Segel as a married couple harbouring mutual murder fantasies. Lisa and Dan present the facade of a reconciliation getaway at a secluded cabin, yet both arrive with carefully laid plans to permanently dispatch the other. Those schemes collapse spectacularly when a group of escaped fugitives, led by Timothy Olyphant’s menacing Pete, choose the same property as their hideout.

Juliette Lewis and Keith Jardine round out the intruder crew, forcing the embittered spouses to shelve their homicidal agendas and cooperate against a common threat. Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney adapted the script from Tommy Wirkola’s 2021 Norwegian thriller The Trip, transplanting its savage humour into an American one.

Critics largely embraced the chaos. Over Your Dead Body holds a 77% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes alongside a 69% critics rating, with reviewers zeroing in on Olyphant’s return to a villainous role. His portrayal of an escaped convict was compared to earlier antagonistic roles in Live Free or Die Hard and Scream 2, labeling what many called a welcome throwback to his darker character work.

The synopsis describes the mayhem: “Their twisted weekend implodes when escaped fugitives invade the property, forcing the warring couple to join forces against violent intruders—possibly the one thing that could actually save their marriage” (via Collider).
