Ryan Reynolds has donated £10,000 to a young Wrexham fan who has an aggressive form of heart cancer.
Lexi, who is from Wrexham in North East Wales, was diagnosed with the condition just weeks after returning from a ‘carefree’ holiday with her family this summer.
The 13-year-old girl has since undergone two open-heart surgeries, intensive rounds of chemotherapy and has had a pacemaker fitted.
In addition, Lexi’s family dog, who she described as her ‘best friend’, died while she was in surgery.
Despite the ‘whirlwind’ last few months of her life, Wrexham FC co-owner and Hollywood A-lister Reynolds is trying his best to help Lexi and her family.
On a GoFundMe donation page, Reynolds sent her family £10,000 to help Lexi achieve her dream of spending Christmas in New York.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Lexi’s mother Rebecca Collins said: ‘We don’t even know where to begin in saying thank you.
‘Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude to Ryan Reynolds, North Wales Police, and every single person who has donated, shared a kind word, or held Lexi in their thoughts.
Heart cancer
Heart cancer is a rare condition where abnormal cells grow uncontrollably in the heart.
There are two main types: primary (starting in the heart, very rare) and secondary (cancer spreading from elsewhere in the body, much more common).
Symptoms can include shortness of breath, chest pain, extreme fatigue, and irregular heartbeats.
Types of Heart Cancer
Primary Cardiac Cancer:Cancer that starts in the heart itself, most commonly a type called cardiac sarcoma. Secondary (Metastatic) Cancer:
Cancer that begins in another organ, such as the lung, and spreads to the heart. This is much more likely to occur than primary heart cancer.

This comes after Reynolds and fellow Zrexham FC co-owner Rob McElhenney made a generous donation to a young girl living with brain cancer in 2022.
The Hollywood pair each pledged £10,000 to help fund a bid by the family of four-year-old Aria Hodgkiss to raise money for an alternative treatment to help extend her life.
They also donated £10,000 to the Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Society and gifted Wembley cup final tickets to a former flayer living with dementia.
Their donations took the fund more than £3,000 over its £60,000 target.
