PS5 Remasters of Fan Favorite PS3 Action Games Leaked

A pair of classic action games are reportedly being remastered for PS5. Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2, two classic FPS titles, could be getting the remaster treatment soon.

The social media account PlayStation Game Size, which monitors the backend of the PS Store to track updates, recently shared a surprising post. The post simply noted the existence of both Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II. At the time of the posting, many believed the games to be shadow-dropped at Nintendo’s Direct. After that came and went, fans were curious.

Currently, no information on the remasters has been confirmed, but it does seem like they’re still coming. While they didn’t appear during the Nintendo Direct, the games still seem legit. A week ago, a South Korean ratings board posted listings for both games, hinting that we could be seeing them appear at some point.

Originally released in 2010 and 2012, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 were developed by Treyarch and are two of the most critically acclaimed entries in the long-running Call of Duty franchise. Both games are praised not only for their online play, but the game’s campaigns, which largely focus on CIA operative Alex Mason as he attempts to recall the location of a numbers station for Soviet sleeper agents.

Many believed the games to be connected to the Nintendo Direct due to the upcoming Modern Warfare 4 coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 this year. However, fans will have to wait for more information about the Black Ops remasters for the time being.
