Few genres have thrived on Prime Video quite like the crime thriller. From Reacher to Cross and the extended Bosch universe, many of the biggest recent success stories for the platform lean on the grounded and gritty end of entertainment, being driven by their complicated, proficient, and often deadly lead investigators. One of the streamer's latest entries into the genre, however, came not from a bestselling detective novel, but the pages of Marvel Comics — Spider-Noir. Premiering at the end of May on Amazon's flagship service and its sister streamer, MGM+, the series featured Nicolas Cage in his first-ever series regular role on television, playing the titular superhero crime-solver in live-action after last voicing another version of the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
