One of Fox‘s popular competition shows has finally returned on Hulu with an all-new season, nearly four months after wrapping up its last installment. Beginning today, Hulu subscribers can now watch the first two episodes of The Floor Season 5, titled “New Year, New Floor” and “The Expert-Slayer Strikes.”
“The show follows 100 new contestants, representing all fifty states, who will stand their ground on a massive, interactive LED game floor featuring 100 squares, each representing a different trivia category,” reads the logline. “The first challenger, selected at random, must choose one of his or her neighboring opponents to go head-to-head in an epic quiz duel in the opponent’s category. The winner takes over the loser’s square, gaining valuable ground as they expand their territory, while the loser exits the game. The contestant who gains full control over The Floor takes home a life-changing grand prize.”
What do we know about Hulu’s The Floor Season 5?
The Floor Season 5 is once again hosted by Emmy nominee Rob Lowe (The West Wing). Per TV Insider, the new installment will be introducing a new twist to the game called The Territory Freeze, which will give the contestant with the most duel wins an advantage during the show’s mid-season. Season 5 will also include new categories such as Legos, Pool Party, Tattoos, Bobbleheads, Yacht Rock, Barbier, Sexiest Man Alive, Global News, Track and Field, and Handbags.
Based on the Dutch game show of the same name, the American remake was created by John de Mol. Executive producers are Lowe, de Mol, Chris Culvenor, Sean O’Riordan, Shane Byrne, Wesley Dening, Paul Franklin, Eden Gaha, Mark van Achterberg, Sam Bisbee, and Theodora Dunlap. It has been airing on Fox since 2024.
