Pope Leo has lung cancer, Vatican confirms: Pontiff is diagnosed after operation

The Pontiff went in for surgery on Tuesday after a lesion was found on his chest. The Vatican said in the hours that followed that the nodule had been taken out, but tests found cancerous cells.
