PS5 players can now play a portion of a highly anticipated September 2026 RPG for free. Developed by Nihon Falcom, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is a remake of the popular PSP RPG. Publisher GungHo Online Entertainment has dropped a free demo for all players on the PS Store.
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter demo progress carries over to the full PS5 RPG at launch
The demo starts immediately after the events of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. Players can play through the first chapter of the campaign, with all progress carrying over to the full game. However, do note that there may be minor differences between the demo and the final product.
“After quelling the coup d’état that shook the Kingdom of Liberl, Estelle and Joshua have finally become senior bracers,” the plot reads. “However, on the eve of the Queen’s Birthday Festival, Joshua reveals the dark truth of his past before vanishing into the night, leaving only his brief farewell: Goodbye, Estelle. Armed with Joshua’s harmonica and an unshakable determination, Estelle embarks upon a continent-spanning quest to find her partner.”
