After the disappointing commercial and critical performance of their last original idea, Elio, 2026 proved the perfect comeback for Pixar as they released Hoppers, a fresh family-friendly tale starring newcomer Piper Curda as an animal lover who uses technology to become a robotic beaver. Hoppers started the year off strong for Pixar, earning $388 million worldwide against a reported $150 million budget, and was called one of Pixar's "funniest movies yet" in Ross Bonaime's review for Collider.
